How to use

  1. 1Prepare your persona: Have your user persona details ready (demographics, goals, pain points, behaviors)
  2. 2Replace [Paste persona details] with your persona information. Format: "Name: [name]. Age: [X]. Goals: [Y]. Pain points: [Z]."
  3. 3Prepare your design: Have UI screenshots, design descriptions, or design links ready
  4. 4Replace [Paste UI description, screenshot link, or design details] with your design materials. If you have screenshots, upload them
  5. 5Add context before the prompt: Describe the design context. Example: "This is our new mobile app onboarding flow. Persona: [paste persona]. Design: [paste design]."
  6. 6Paste the modified prompt into your preferred AI tool, like ChatGPT or Claude (preferably with vision if using screenshots)
  7. 7Review the persona perspective: Check how this persona would react to your design
  8. 8Focus on confusion points: Pay attention to what would confuse this persona and prioritize fixing those
  9. 9Use the recommendations: Apply the persona-specific recommendations to improve your design
  10. 10Test with real users: Use this as pre-testing validation, but always validate with real user testing when possible

Pro Tips

  • Include detailed personas: The more persona details you provide, the more accurate the feedback will be
  • Request specific scenarios: Ask "How would this persona complete [specific task]?" for task-focused feedback
  • For multiple personas: Run this prompt for each persona separately, then compare reactions
  • Use synthetic quotes: The synthetic quotes can help you anticipate what real users might say
  • Combine with heuristic review: Use persona-based feedback alongside heuristic review for comprehensive design validation
